Much of Lauren's career has been spent doing the work that sits underneath a filed patent application: the searching, the drafting, and the back-and-forth with the USPTO that follows.
Before founding Legacy Patents, Lauren built much of her experience through Legend IP Consulting LLC, where she provided patent research, drafting, and prosecution support to patent attorneys, patent agents, intellectual property practices, companies, and inventors. This work gave her extensive exposure to patent matters across a wide range of technologies and stages of the patent process.
Legacy Patents was not the beginning of Lauren's patent career. It is the next stage of one that was already well established, and it brings that experience directly to the inventors she now works with.

Lauren founded Legacy Patents to create the kind of patent practice she wanted inventors to experience: personal, accessible, and practitioner‑led.
After years of supporting other practitioners and working with inventors, Lauren saw how much depends on the person doing the work understanding both the technology and what the inventor is trying to achieve. She built Legacy Patents around direct, one-on-one access to that person.
The person who learns your invention is the same person who discusses patent strategy with you, prepares your application, and handles prosecution before the USPTO.
Clients are not routinely passed between associates, departments, or multiple layers of staff. Lauren works with her clients directly, so nothing gets lost in a handoff.
Legacy Patents is a one-on-one patent practice, and intentionally so. Staying focused means every matter gets the attention of a practitioner who knows it well.
Lauren is originally from a small town in Northern England. She later relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona, where she built her career in intellectual property and patent practice.
Today she works with independent inventors, entrepreneurs, startups, and small businesses throughout the United States, as well as foreign-domiciled inventors and companies seeking U.S. patent protection.
Outside of work, she enjoys weightlifting, cooking, and traveling.
Patent agents and patent attorneys are both registered with the USPTO to represent inventors and applicants in patent matters. Patent attorneys are additionally licensed to provide broader legal services, while registered patent agents focus specifically on patent practice before the USPTO.
